Barcelona Tourist Discount Cards

As compared to other Spanish cities, Barcelona is not a cheap place to visit – when it comes to accommodation, eating and sightseeing. For the budget traveler, there are a few ways to save some pennies, besides the long list of free things to do in Barcelona. There are several passes and cards which you can buy that cover both transportation and sights in Barcelona, providing discounts or even free entrance. Here’s a bit of information about each of the tourist discount cards for Barcelona:

Barcelona City Pass

The official Barcelona City Card is a city pass that can be used from 2 to 5 days, depending on which duration you choose. It provides you with free public transport, free admission to top sights and many discounts and offers for many of Barcelona’s major attractions.  Free travel on public transport includes the Barcelona metro, city buses and airport train, while discounts are provided for entry to major attractions like Barcelona Aquarium and IMAX and more. Every Barcelona card comes with a free guidebook and city map. A 2-day pass costs 27 euros for adults, while the most expensive 5-day pass is priced at 44 euros/adult. Oh-Barcelona Discount Card

The Oh-Barcelona Discount Card is free to all clients reserving accommodation in Barcelona on the Oh-Barcelona website. This card, on the other hand, is more suitable for well-heeled travelers looking to see the city at a comfortable and leisurely pace. Attractive offers include a 5% discount on the entry to Camp Nou FC Barcelona Football Stadium, a free audio guide at Pueblo Espanyol and a free second day onboard the sightseeing bus. Arqueoticket

Arqueoticket - discount card 5 Barcelona museumsThis is an excellent option for museum buffs and history lovers. The Arqueoticket is a multi-ticket discount card that can be used for 5 history museums. Each card costs 18 euros which gives you free access to five of the best history museums in Barcelona. The card is valid for 1 year from date of purchase, so you don’t have to see them all in one week-end. The museums include the MAC (Archaeology Museum of Catalonia), Egyptian Museum of Barcelona and MUHBA (Barcelona History Museum). You can order the Arqueoticket online and pay by credit card. When your booking is confirmed you must print a voucher which you present in Barcelona at one of the Barcelona tourist offices below to exchange for your Arqueoticket.

Articket BCN - museum card Barcelona
As its name implies, Articket BCN is specially catered to art-lovers. This museum card provides free  admission to the top art museums in Barcelona for 22 euros. You can visit all seven art centres and museums in whichever order you wish and the Articket is valid for 6 months. The 7 art collections participating in the program includes Museu Picasso, Fundació Joan Miró (highly recommended), La Pedrera, and MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya).
