The shortest ferry route between Spain and Morocco is Tarifa to Tangier. Although when you plan to get from Spain to Marocco there are plenty of plane and ferry routes to choose from and the ferries from Algeciras to Tangier are a very good choice as well, if your traveling plans take you to Tarifa, it’s a shame not to explore this option even if you only spend couple of hours in Tangier.

You can even plan to spend a day in Tarifa. The old town is charming and there are plenty of things to do. Plus you can always relax on the beach, as well.

When going to Morocco by ferry, make sure to have your passport with you. If you are from EU, UK or US you don’t need a visa but the passport should be valid for at least 6 months after the day of departure. If you come from a EU country and want to take the car with you in Morocco, the green card is valid and accepted.
