Researchers Claim Discover of Lost City of Atlantis near Cadiz, Spain

Having recently read this headlines on Reuters, I’m thrilled to share this big news with you guys. A U.S.-led team may have finally found the location of the Lost City of Atlantis along the mudflats near Cadiz!
Evidence show that the vast marshlands of Doñana National Park could be the birthplace of Atlantis, the human society’s first metropolis. To solve the age-old mystery, the team of archaeologists and geologists used a satellite photo of a suspected submerged city to find the site just north of Cadiz, Spain.
Using a combination of deep-ground radar, digital mapping, and underwater technology, the site was surveyed by Richard Freund, a professor at the University of Hartford, Connecticut, professor and his team of international experts.
Freund’s discovery in Southern Spain was a series of “memorial cities,” built in Atlantis’ image by its refugees after the city’s likely destruction by a tsunami. Debates on whether Atlantis truly existed have been going on for milleniums. Greek philosopher Plato wrote about Atlantis some 2,600 years ago, describing it as “an island situated in front of the straits called the Pillars of Hercules,” using the ancient name of the Straits of Gibraltar. Using Plato’s detailed account of Atlantis as a map, searches have focused on the Mediterranean and Atlantic as the best possible sites for the city.
