Barcelona – a romantic destination for St. Valentine's Day

valentine-barcelonaSt. Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away and there’s still time to book your romantic holiday. Barcelona might not be everyone’s first choice of a romantic getaway, but there are plenty of romantic places in Spain to check out and interesting things to do as a couple.
First of all though, make sure to look for airfare to Barcelona . If you are already in Europe, look for cheap flights to Spain on budget airlines such as Easyjet or Ryanair. St. Valentine’s Day is a popular time to travel and there are a lot of offers available for those who plan to surprise their sweetheart.
Next, look for cheap hotels in Barcelona with a romantic feel. Many affordable hotels offer excellent opportunities for an intimate stay. Stay on one of the streets which are close to Las Rambla.
Take your sweetheart’s hand and walk in Barri Gòtic. For a romantic and interesting feel, choose the sunset, when the beauty of the location mixes with the interesting colors of the sun. Or head to the harbor at sunset to watch a magnificent show. If you don’t have problems with waking up early in the morning, surprise your sweetheart with a very early coffee at a café in the harbor and watch the sunrise together.
Take the chairlift to Montjuïc. It overlooks Barcelona and offers stunning view of the city. Explore the Laribal Gardens and stop for a romantic picnic in a secluded place (some cheese and a bottle of wine are just perfect… and you can pick the up at La Boqueria).
Bring the camera and take photos in Ciutadella Park. Kiss by the Cascada fountain and seal the kiss with your camera. Play hide and seek, walk hand in hand and ignore everyone else for a while. There’s nothing more beautiful than loving the nature with all your senses and sharing the great feeling with your sweetheart. Bonus points if you ask her hand playfully.
Pick a night and spend it dancing. Whether you like slower rhythms or prefer the clubbing atmosphere, Barcelona won’t disappoint you. And dancing is always an exciting way to start a fun night. Champagne and chocolate completes it wonderfully.
